12 Hour Charity Race Saturday 27th February
Posted by: nickdeeley - Posted: February 26, 2021

Tomorrow see’s a charity 12 hour endurance race on ACC, supporting The Brain Tumour Charity.
I shall be engineering 3(!) cars for Zansho Rocket Esports throughout this 12 hour endurance:
2 Mclarens (with 3 drivers per car) driven by real world British GT pairing and race winners Michael O’Brien and James Baldwin plus the 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button using their 2020 British GT liveries, all racing with sim racing superstars from Zansho Simsport: Luka Berk, Jack McIntyre and Tobin Leigh. Joining them under the Zansho colours in a Ferrari with an all Scottish line up is John Munro (who has raced UK club level motorsport), Ross McGregor and Ibraheem Kahn.
You can donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/12hsilverstonecharityevent
Watch qualifying and the race live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU692jXbjL0 (starts at 10:30am GMT).
Would be grateful for your support throughout the race but even more grateful for any donations towards this great cause we are racing for.

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the post here, always nice to see our members and their involvement in esports.
Wow, 12 hours and 355 laps completed!
How did the event go for you guys, I see it was a close race and you finished in 2nd place in the #26 car!
Perhaps you can share with the members here how you got to work with the team and well-known drivers such as Jenson Button!

It was a tough but fun race indeed. Bit more luck our way and it would’ve been a double podium and/or race win but that’s motorsport.
As for how I got to work with them, just right place right time through friends and just getting involved, pretty lucky in that regard but sim racing and motorsport can be a small world.
