Welcome to the At the Circuit Team Activities Guide!

This course is designed to point out and create a better understanding of the key areas and activities that take place at a racing circuit. Whilst your time spent at the circuit might be during a media day, test or race event the ‘science’ and message here remains the same. A good understanding of the key areas and activities that take place helps to create and safer, more efficient and professional environment so that all involved in the sport we love can get the most out of it.

We’ll cover a range of areas from what parts of the circuit are important and what activities take place in those areas, what team set-up procedures take place when working in such areas and what goes on during different event types.

The information and guidance found within has been developed and written to be mindful of and include those with differing skills and knowledge levels, so please be aware we’ve covered a wide range and level of competencies when we developed our guides. We’re confident that there’s something here to learn and take away for everyone whether you’re an enthusiast, perhaps a student enrolled on a motorsport course, maybe an amateur racecar driver looking to build and race their very own racecar, right through to a well-seasoned racing team looking to venture into a new racing competition.

The lessons within this course may refer to and also be linked to several other documents in our overall resources including those entered into the Student Motorsport Challenge.

Important: Whilst we make every effort to provide accurate information and guidance it is your responsibility to ensure you work safely within your organisation and that your race car (entry) meets the technical regulations set, by following and adhering to the BRSCC CityCar Cup Championship and Technical regulations.

Updates, revisions and additions are ongoing as we expand and improve our guides throughout the inaugural Student Motorsport Challenge. Additions to images and the information is an ongoing process and changes are being carried out throughout our guides and lessons. Thank you for your requests and keep a lookout for new information and guidance.

We welcome suggestions, feedback, requests and will keep you updated on corrections, revisions, updates and any additions to come!

Best wishes for the start or continuation of your motorsport career!
