THE CHALLENGE

WHAT WE DO

WE DEVELOP BETTER WORK-READY STUDENTS FOR THE MOTORSPORT INDUSTRY

2022 Student Motorsport Challenge teams and cars gathered together

THERE IS NO EDUCATIONAL MOTORSPORT COMPETITION LIKE IT

The Student Motorsport Challenge provides an attainable yet challenging project where success isn’t governed by the largest investment or in-house resources. Led by tutors, student teams will compete in the BRSCC CityCar Cup Drivers Championship and the Student Motorsport Teams Challenge to compete against professionals and their peers.

Set up a race team

Challenge students and educators to set up a race-team and find a qualified driver (or work to introduce and a new qualified driver).

Build a race car

Convert a road-going Citroën C1, Peugeot 107 or Toyota Aygo to BRSCC CityCar Cup and Challenge race car specifications.

Compete on-track

Compete against other school, college and university teams in the Student Motorsport teams class and against regular competitors in the Drivers Championship.

Compete off-track

Enter a series of Challenge off-track awards to measure your team's professional development, media and commercial savviness and car preparation skills.

Embed the project

Make the project part of your curriculum and make use of resources and consultancy provided through your Student Motorsport Challenge entry.

Collaborate

Work with your other departments to build your Challenge team. Bring students into specialist areas such as marketing, media, business and hospitality, and consider how you can collaborate with external partners.

Provide industry experience

Provide your students with real-world experience and develop them into the skilled, work-ready professionals the industry needs.

Create a year-on-year project

Create a rebuild project with lower investments after the initial first year and hone your performance in all areas to keep up with or ahead of the competition.

THE RACE CAR

CAR SPECIFICATION & COSTS

The cars provide a great year-round project – a perfect blend of performance, affordability and close racing. The regulations are based on the 3-door 2005-2014 Citroën C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo.
