Self Development

5 months into my sim racing career and I still have a lot of learning to do. Being a rookie, trying to learn how the setup systems work and running a rookie team is shaping up to be quite a challenge.

We are now just over halfway through the GT3E season and we have some points on the board, which was my aim for the first season. But that being said, I still strive so more. I got in contact with the championship director to see if he could put me in touch with someone who has a lot more experience.

I was messaged by a much more experienced team owner and racer (Simon Marshall of Team Rookie Monsters), who has already helped me soo much. My initial plan was to just do the GT3E championship, but he said I needed to do more, much more! The more you do, the more experience you get, the quicker you improve. Duh….

Now I am racing at least once a week in various different championships, but still using the old desk set up. I’m sure I can get more pace from a proper rig so I’ve taken the leap and bought one! Got to build it now!

Good Afternoon Oli,

I hope all is well, thanks for coming back to us and updating us on your progress.

What parts of the system set-ups and team operations have you found challenging? Do you run a large team?

Great to hear that you have reached out to others more experienced in the Esport realm, other than ‘doing more’ what pointers and advice did Simon offer you at Team Rookie Monsters? Any big takeaways to share with us?

Do keep us updated on your rig/builds and share those images too!

Good Afternoon Oli

I hope all is well, and that you found my last response useful?

Have there been any other developments in your esports activities you can share, also how is your career drive going, can we help at all?
