Current Status: Undergraduate

Studying at: University of Wolverhampton

I'm currently studying BEng Motorsport Engineering at the University of Wolverhampton, having previously studied Vehicle Technology (Motorsport) at Btec level achieving Distinction*. Within this time I completed a race weekend as pit crew for a Honda Civic in the BTRDA Clubman's British RallyCross Championship. I got into motorsport by watching F1 as a child, and it just grew after that. I have been to numerous F1 races, and looking to attend more in the near future.
During my time at college, I knew I needed to learn everything about a car from scratch, having previously never worked on a car before. I then went on to win an award for student of the year, which made me feel I had accomplished what I had joined the course for. Currently at University, I have created groups for social interaction between students who are new to the University. Following on from this I am now a course rep for Motorsport, helping to fix issues found within the course.
My goals for the rest of my studies at University are to be able to learn as much as I can. I want to be able to have a more specific idea of what I want to do as a career. I want to have a career in the motorsport industry, and at present I am drawn more towards the design and development elements of engineering.

During this time I started to learn about cars, teaching myself everything I know now and going on to win an award for student of the year. Along with completing a race weekend, I completed a couple of weeks of work experience which has also helped extend my knowledge of the industry. It helped me grown within the Motorsport community and grow my confidence.
